American Brain Tumor Association

The American Brain Tumor Association is an independent, non-profit organization founded in 1972. Services include over 20 publications which address brain tumors, their treatment, and coping with the disease. Materials address brain tumors in all age groups. It also provides social consultations; a mentorship program for new brain tumor support group leaders; a nationwide database of established support groups; the Connections pen-pal program; networking with organizations that provide services to brain tumor patients and their families; a resource listing of physicians offering investigative treatments; and an award-winning Internet site.

Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation

The Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 1988 by parents, physicians, and friends is dedicated to improving the treatment, quality of life, and long term outlook for children with brain and spinal cord tumors. The foundation funds research for basic, clinical and psychosocial research on pediatric brain and spinal cord tumors and their consequences. It offers support services and a parent-to-parent network, and publishes a free resource guide on pediatric brain and spinal cord tumors for families. The Foundation also co-sponsors conferences on pediatric brain tumors.

Brain Tumor Foundation for Children, Inc.

The Brain Tumor Foundation for Children was founded in 1983 by a small group of parents. The purpose of BTFC is to provide emotional and informational support to the victims of pediatric brain tumor disease; to raise funds to provide assistance to the medical community to support research for a cure and the improvement in the treatment and quality of life of children with brain tumors; and to provide public awareness and education about the disease. BTFC offers a newsletter, News Views. Referral services, support groups, a parent to parent link up program, and free publications on specific brain tumors and treatments.
