Karen M. Bontia, MD
Dr. Bontia’s clinical interest includes peripheral neuropathy, myopathy, motor neuron disease/ALS, myasthenia gravis, headaches, and movement disorders.
She was awarded her MD from the University of Philippines, and completed her internship at Staten Island University Hospital, neurology residency in North Shore University Hospital in New York where she also served as chief resident, and fellowship in Neuromuscular-EMG at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for Neurology and Neuromuscular Medicine, and by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and a fellow of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Branimir Brozman, MD
Dr. Brozman graduated from the Comenius University School of Medicine with High Honors. He completed his Neurology Residency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and his Sleep Medicine and Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, American Board of Sleep Medicine and ABPN Clinical Neurophysiology, and a member of the American Academy of Neurology. His clinical interests include adult general neurology, multiple sclerosis, sleep medicine, epilepsy and migraine. Dr. Brozman joined Neurology Associates in 2003. He spends his free time with his family, reads modern history and science, and enjoys instrumental music.

Sally E. K. Kirkpatrick, MD
Dr. Kirkpatrick’s clinical interests include cognitive and behavioral neurology of children and adults, epilepsy, headache, Tourette’s Syndrome, and other borderlands of neurology and psychiatry. She studied English at Wesleyan University, graduating with High Honors. She attended the Medical College of Pennsylvania, and took an internship in Internal Medicine at Boston City Hospital. Following this, her training in neurology was at the Harvard-Langwood program, a join program of Brigham & Woman’s, Beth Israel, Children’s and NE Deaconess Hospitals.

Kandan Kulandaivel, MD
Dr. Kandan Kulandaivel joined Neurology Associates in 2010 after completing his fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, New Hampshire. Dr. Kulandaivel had previously completed a residency in Neurology at Drexel College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and medical school at Madras Medical College in Chennai, India. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. His clinical interests include epilepsy and EEG interpretation. He spends his free time with his family and watching the Phillies.

Deviyani Mehta, MD
Dr. Mehta completed medical school from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India. She underwent Neurology Residency at New Jersey Neuroscience Institute at JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey, and Vascular Neurology Fellowship from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her clinical interest includes inpatient adult neurology with special interest in cerebrovascular disorders. |

Adenike A. Opaleke, MD
Dr. Opaleke received her MD in Nigeria and continued her residency and
neurology fellowship in pediatrics in New York. She also trained in Georgia
with a specialization in epilepsy. Dr. Opaleke is a Diplomate in the
American Academy of Pediatrics as well as American Academy of Neurology
and Psychiatry.
Dr. Opaleke enjoys reading, computer technology, basketball and spending
time with her family and friends.

James W. Sears, MD
Dr. Sears is director of our Sleep Disorders Center and director of EEG services. He is board-certified in clinical neuro-physiology, certified also with American Board of Sleep Medicine, and is a Fellow of American Electroencephalography. Dr. Sears received his MD from University of Bologna, Italy.

Michal Vytopil, MD
Dr. Vytopil was awarded his MD at Masaryk University Medicine School, Brno, Czech Republic, and completed his residency at Tufts Medical Center, Boston, where he served as Chief Resident. He holds a research fellowship and PhD in molecular genetics of muscular dystrophies, as well as a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology/Neuromuscular Disorders.
Dr. Vytopil enjoys reading history, traveling and spending time with his wife Olga and 3 children.
